THE LIAR’S QUARTET: BRAVO FIGARO!, CUCKOOED, THE RED SHED – PLAYSCRIPTS, NOTES AND COMMENTARY

The Red Shed manages to be, by turns, hilarious, moving and anger provoking … Mark Thomas needs to be read and heard at a time when the establishment can, through the right-wing press, decry all dissent as fake news or a hoax. Buy it, laugh at it, think about it and love it.’

Southside John

‘Wonderful, as ever!’

100 ACTS OF MINOR DISSENT

100 ACTS OF MINOR DISSENT

Mark Thomas at his inspired best

‘Some of the acts in here had me in tears of laughter and Mark Thomas describes them in his beautifully dead pan and self-effacing style. It is part of the genius of the man that he does things which at first appear preposterous, then have you howling with laughter, but then have you thinking “of course, why didn’t I think of that”.’

Ebook reader

Infectiously anarchist and surprisingly sweet

‘I loved this book, even though it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. If you want a polemic that causes you to start firebombing Starbucks branches, then this isn’t it. What it is is a list of touching, silly ways in which we can all slightly gum up the works of the modern neoliberalist hell without finding ourselves behind bars.

If you don’t find yourself trying at least one of these acts for yourself, you have no soul.’

‘I used to watch the Mark Thomas Comedy Product back when it was on TV and found the stuff he got up to hilarious, but with a serious valid point. It’s good to see that – although rarely on TV now – he’s not lost his edge. Whether he’s telling you about the wonders of a hi-vis vest, or his little “to and fro” with a major supermarket chain, there’s plenty in here to keep you entertained – and perhaps give you some ideas to boot for your own acts of minor dissent.’

Hugh

‘I could stop laughing! Tears were rolling down even though he’s highlighting some really insane corporate and government practices.’
